Terms of Sale

Last updated June 2026

We sell books made to be kept. These terms explain how pre-orders, pricing, shipping, and returns work, so there are no surprises between you and the parcel.

i.The seller and these terms

These Terms of Sale govern your purchase of physical and digital books from micpress.com. The seller is Mic Press, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company operating from New York, New York. By placing an order you agree to these terms, which sit alongside our general Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

Prices are shown in U.S. dollars. Placing an order is an offer to buy; a contract is formed when we confirm your order by email, or — for pre-orders — when we charge your card and dispatch the book.

ii.Pre-orders

AI-Born is currently offered for pre-order. When you pre-order, you reserve your copy and lock in the pre-order price, but you are not charged at checkout. We place a hold for payment and charge your card only when the book is ready to ship — expected in Spring MMXXVI (2026). If the shipping window changes, we will tell you, and you may cancel a pre-order at any time before it ships for a full release of the hold or refund.

Limited and numbered first-edition copies are allocated in the order pre-orders are received. Should a particular edition sell out before we can fulfil your reservation, we will contact you to offer an alternative edition or a full refund.

iii.Pricing, taxes, and payment

The price of each edition is the price shown on its product page at the time your order is confirmed. We may change prices at any time, but a change will never affect an order already confirmed or a pre-order price already locked in. Where required, sales tax, VAT, or other duties are calculated at checkout or collected on delivery; you are responsible for any import duties or customs charges levied by your country on international shipments.

Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We accept the major cards Stripe supports. We do not store your card details. If a payment is declined or reversed, we may hold or cancel the affected order.

iv.Shipping and delivery

We ship our physical editions internationally, with the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, and Australia prioritized. Shipping costs and estimated delivery times are shown at checkout. In-stock titles are dispatched promptly; pre-orders are dispatched when the print run is ready, in the window stated on the product page.

Delivery estimates are estimates, not guarantees, and may be affected by carriers and customs. Risk of loss passes to you on delivery to the address you provide. Please make sure that address is correct — we cannot be responsible for parcels sent to an incorrectly entered address. If an order arrives damaged or fails to arrive, write to hello@micpress.com and we will make it right.

v.Returns and refunds

We want you to be glad you kept the book. You may return an undamaged physical book within thirty (30) days of delivery for a refund of the purchase price. Return shipping is arranged at your cost unless the item arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect, in which case we cover it and replace or refund the item in full.

To start a return, write to hello@micpress.com with your order number before sending anything back. Once we receive and inspect the returned book, we will issue the refund to your original payment method within fourteen (14) days. Customers in the European Union and United Kingdom also have any statutory withdrawal rights provided by law, which these terms do not diminish.

vi.Digital editions

When you buy a digital edition (e-book or audiobook), we grant you a personal, non-transferable license to read or listen to it for your own use. Delivery is by secure download link or through the platform stated at checkout, and is made promptly after payment.

Because digital goods are delivered immediately and cannot be returned, sales of digital editions are final once the download or access has been made available, except where the file is defective or you have a non-waivable statutory right of withdrawal. If a digital file is faulty, contact us and we will repair or replace it. You may not redistribute, resell, or remove rights-management from digital editions.

vii.Cancellations and changes

You may cancel a pre-order at any time before it ships, and we will release the payment hold or refund any amount charged. For in-stock orders, contact us as soon as possible — if the order has not yet been dispatched, we will cancel or amend it; once it has shipped, the return process above applies.

We reserve the right to cancel any order, before or after confirmation, in the event of a pricing error, suspected fraud, payment failure, or stock that proves unavailable. If we cancel an order you have paid for, we will refund you in full.

viii.Warranty and contact

We make our books carefully and stand behind them. If a copy reaches you with a manufacturing fault, we will replace it or refund you. This does not affect any statutory consumer rights you hold under the law of your country, which apply in addition to these terms.

For anything to do with an order — a question, a change, a return — write to hello@micpress.com, or to Mic Press, LLC, New York, New York. These Terms of Sale are governed by the laws of the State of New York.
