Cookie Policy
Last updated June 2026
We keep the machinery quiet. Mic Press uses only the cookies the site genuinely needs, and measures with analytics that set none at all.
i.What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device to remember information between pages or visits. Similar technologies — local storage and the like — work in comparable ways. This policy explains how Mic Press, LLC uses them on micpress.com, and complements our Privacy Policy.
Our approach is deliberately minimal. We do not use cookies to advertise to you, to profile you, or to follow you from one site to another.
ii.Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the site to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are set only in response to actions you take. We use a checkout session cookie to hold a pending order securely as you move through the purchase flow with our payment processor, Stripe, and Stripe may set its own strictly necessary cookies to process payment and prevent fraud.
We also store a small record of your cookie preference, so that we can remember your choice and not ask again unnecessarily. Because these cookies are required for the site to work, they do not need your consent under applicable law.
iii.Analytics — privacy first
We measure how the site is used with Plausible Analytics, a lightweight, open-source, EU-hosted tool chosen precisely because it respects privacy. Plausible does not use cookies and does not store any personal data or persistent identifiers on your device. It does not track you across websites or build a profile of you.
What it gives us is aggregate and anonymous: total visits, which essays and pages are read, broad referral sources, and general device and country categories. That is enough to understand whether the work is reaching people and whether the shop is functioning, and no more.
iv.What we do not use
We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, social-media tracking cookies, or any cross-site tracking technology. We do not sell data gathered through the site, and we do not allow third parties to track our visitors for their own advertising purposes.
v.Managing and opting out
Because our analytics set no cookies and collect no personal data, there is nothing in them to opt out of — but you remain in control of your browser. Every major browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies through its settings, and you can set it to refuse cookies or to alert you when one is offered. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site such as checkout may not work correctly.
You can also enable “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signals in your browser; we honor them where applicable. If you would like to understand exactly what is stored during a visit, your browser’s developer tools will show you, and you are welcome to ask us at privacy@micpress.com.
vi.Changes and contact
If our use of cookies changes, we will update this page and revise the date above. For any question about cookies or tracking, write to privacy@micpress.com, or to Mic Press, LLC, New York, New York.
